Harry Kane and Daniel Levy at loggerheads over Man Utd or Man City transfer

Harry Kane wants to remain in the UK and is interested in joining Manchester United and Manchester City at the end of the season, according to reports. However, Tottenham chairman does not want to do business with a Premier League rival.

Tension could build behind the scenes in north London as the player and chairman has different ideas of how the next transfer window will pan out.

Kane is expected to tell Spurs that he wants to move on if they fail to qualify for Champions League football.

Manchester United are in need of a new centre-forward with Edinson Cavani reluctant to put pen to paper on a contract extension.

In the blue side of the city, Sergio Aguero has not been offered an extension and will be leaving the Etihad Stadium.

Both Manchester clubs are out for a new No 9 and Kane is thought to be high on their wishlist.

The Independent claim the Tottenham star is keen to move up to the north, rather than join a foreign outfit.

La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have been tentatively linked, but French side Paris Saint-Germain are thought to have serious interest.

The appointment of former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has heightened their chances of landing Kane.

Levy would rather strike a deal with the Ligue 1 outfit, whereas Kane wants to continue scoring goals in the English top flight.

The Independent adds that Tottenham will not even think about selling their striker for any less than £150million.

United legend Roy Keane feels Kane would like to move to Old Trafford.

Speaking after the Red Devils beat Tottenham 3-1 on Saturday, he said: “Kane today would be looking at this United team, who have obviously made progress in the last 12 months.

“Surely Kane must be thinking: ‘Listen, I could be the top man at Manchester United up front’, with the service he would be getting. Kane must fancy a United move.

“I think Kane fancies United.

“If Kane is in the United team, then it’s as if night follows day, yeah (he’d win trophies).

“Man United have closed the gap on Man City and Kane would be a huge step.”
