Shanghai reports three new imported COVID-19 cases

SHANGHAI, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) — Shanghai reported three imported COVID-19 cases and no domestically transmitted cases on Saturday, the municipal health commission said Sunday.

Two of the patients are Chinese nationals from the Philippines and the United States respectively. They arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Thursday.

The third case is an Italian who arrived at the Pudong airport on Friday.

They started to show symptoms while under quarantine in Shanghai and were later diagnosed as confirmed cases. The three have been hospitalized. A total of 113 close contacts have been put under quarantine.

As of Saturday, Shanghai had reported 600 confirmed imported cases and 342 locally transmitted cases.
