Two fires break out overnight

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services are investigating two fires in WA overnight.

At about 10.10pm volunteer firefighters were called to a structure blaze in Narrikup, in the Great Southern region.

Seven local crews attended the scene on Settlement Road and found a fire in the roof space. The firefighters wearing special breathing apparatusbrought the blaze under control within 20 minutes.

At around 1am firefighters were called to a truck fire on Howson Way in Bibra Lake.

Four crews attended and found a semi trailer with two trailers attached and the front trailer was burning. Upon further investigation they found a small amount of rubbish on fire.

It took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

DFES investigators will look into the cause of both blazes.
